Reflection

My experience in Pagapat was awesome. We have a lot of fun back there we learn many things back there . Well even though it was not an immersion for me because we were treated as guest there still we learn chores from them.
The first immersion in Pagatpat was a vacation. But we didn't our mission at that time. Well we did "getting-to-know" then we tell them why we were there. Luckily they understood us and they welcomed us with big- wide-broad arms. We did not waste our time there. What we did was we help our poster-parents with the house-hold chores and after we did play with the kids. At that time we spent a lot of time with the family.
Meanwhile on the second time, that's the time we did our work .. The real essence of immersion. We did survey and community mapping. while we were droving around for the survey and mapping. We got news about the subdivision which still on the process of building. We heard that some families are protesting against the facilitator of the given subdivision. The families are still proclaiming the lots which was occupied by the subdivision.
Anyways back to community mapping. . zone 7 is a small zone compare to the other zone. most part of zone 7 is a wide coconut and papaya plantation which serves as a "hanap-buhay" of some families there. And zone seven is near to the river which once cause floods to the zone. But the river is very helpful on some people there, because of that river they get "balas " from it to make cements blocks. That place is small but very helpful to the community of pagatapat.

The seminar was great, i learn a lot of things about DEVCOM. I learn many meanings of Devcom and the jobs that are capable in the course. I also learn what is the difference of DEVCOM and MASSCOM. DEVCOM is made for all people in all level, especially to the unfortunate people.

DEVCOM help people to pursue social economic growth, promote dramatic change and pursuing advocacy.
I also meet the different majors in devcom the DEVJOURN and EDUCOM. DEVJOURN is where students are trained to write and report communicational news, meanwhile EDUCOM uses communicational material to show or express the message of the communicator.
The seminar was helpful to us development communication students. We learn how to define Devcom. Now i really can that I'm proud and strong being part of devcom

Community Mapping

Community mapping for me is a way of knowing the place or community and make a map on it by roving around and familiarizing the given place. Based on my past two exercises i found out that community mapping is a hard thing to do. It takes time to finish one community map. It takes a lot of sweat just to finish one map. When we did our community mapping it took us long time to gather the all information on our assign place. And it made us crazy. It took us a night just to finish drawing the map. But because of community mapping we do now familiar the assign place.
It could be applied in my community by having surveying, by gathering information, and even in campaigning during election. Community mapping is applicable in many ways.

AlL abOut MDG's Goals

I understand about the MDG's goals. They want to have a change in our world. By this project they want to tell us about the situation and crisis that the whole world and especially Africa.
they want to tell us that plenty of people suffering great starve, illness, large number of death and decreasing mortality rate of children!!
My heart broke when i heard that children in Africa died from a illness which has a cure but couldn't cure them, because they can't afford to buy medicine. I hate seeing children die because they don't have food to eat. That's why they are tended to steal food or eat food from trash . It's
hard to know that many part of the world, that the mortality rate is decreasing. I can't imagine that in Africa, many children couldn't make up to their fifth birthday. Most of African children die below five years old. If only i could do something just to stop and prevent the cause of massive deaths in Africa...
For sure the MDG's project will last and they will pursue their plans for people who at needs. MDG is a big help for us, to our government and to the world....

"communication"

"communication" is a way of connecting people. Communication help us to be connected to our love once. It help us to have greater relationships to them.
There are many ways of communicating. You can communicate through verbal, just by speaking, sining, and even through tone of voice you can communicate to others. But communicating is not just through mouths or through voice. You could also communicate by physical means like body language, writing, and even eye contact. Guess what even listening and reading are part of communicating. Communication is nature to humans. Even God uses communication to have his believers, and followers. Without communication what would happen to our world. People could not understand each other. Perhaps there's no peace no earth, maybe war's would happen all over the earth. Communication has a big role in this world and even to us, to our individual lives.
